South Hills Women of Distinction
The Black Association of South Hills for Women (BASH) was founded in 1978 by eleven women of color who intuitively saw the need for new residents to be introduced to other African-American families in the South Hills community.

The women united both old and new residents to form a solid group of conscientious and creative women.
BASH has also awarded over 300 scholarships to deserving high school seniors throughout the areas south of Pittsburgh.
BASH is an organization that serves as a welcoming committee for new residents south of Pittsburgh and also serves proudly as a significant social, civic and charitable organization of the community.
